Visit to the Memorial Ship Mikasa at Yokosuka

I was so happy to visit the memorial ship Mikasa at yokosuka. As you may now, Mikasa is one of the most famous ship in the world and was the flag ship of the Japanese Imperial Fleet during the Battle of Tsushima which was a decisive Japanese victory over the Russian Navy. It was the first vistory of an Asian nation against a Major consolidated Naval Power, therefore the impact in media at that time was very strong. I really liked the background and significance of the Z flag.

The Z flag has a well-know meaning in maritime signals. However, the Z flag has special meaning in Japan because symbolizes the great Japanese victory at the Battle of Tsushima.
“The fate of the Empire rests on the outcome of this battle. Let each man do his utmost”.

I have briefly reviewed by visit with some pics and videos (it was a heavy raining day! so I slightly felt like sailing in the middle of a storm!).

Hope you enjoy the materials.
