A multiplayer online game developed by Belarusian-Cypriot company Wargaming, called World of Tanks, has become very popular recently. In this game you can choose historical tanks that participated in the WW2. It is built upon a freemium business model where the game is free-to-play, but participants also have the option of paying a fee for use of “premium” features.

On 10 June 2013, it was announced that World of Tanks was coming to Xbox Live Arcade and on 12 February 2014 as World of Tanks: Xbox 360 Edition. Xbox 360 players use separate servers to those playing the Windows version, and players of each version have separate accounts. A PlayStation 4 version released in 2016. World of Tanks has also recently expanded to mobile platforms under the name World of Tanks Blitz, in addition to a board game titled World of Tanks Rush and a collectable card game titled World of Tanks: Generals. But not only that, the massive number of fans has attracted the attention to not only computer games companies but also model kits manufacturers such as Italeri.  They have started to producing World of Tanks inspired models that reproduce the historical tanks during World War II. Here there are some examples of these model kit tanks:

The manufacturers have constructed model at 1/35 and 1/56. There is also some diorama model set which shows some city buildings and typically some German, American or Russian tanks. in this case, it displays a German Tiger tank.

World Of Tanks Roll Out: Ferdinand – W36501

 

The StuG 8.8cm was based on the unsuccessful Porsche Tiger chassis fitted with a heavily armoured superstructure in the front and a mounted 8,8cm Pak 43/2 L/71 gun.A total of 90 vehicles were produced; they first saw combat in the Battle of Kursk (Operation Citadel). It was built in 1943 under the name Ferdinand, after its designer Ferdinand Porsche, but was soon renamed. After the Battle of Kursk, the remaining 48 vehicles were pulled out of service and given an overhaul. This included a ball-mount machine gun in the front along with a commander’s cupola. The name Elefant was soon decided upon.The vehicle was received with mixed feelings. It provided good protection with its thick armour but was severely unreliable in its mechanics due to the use of non-standard parts.
